Super Rare! The First Phonetic Symbol Stamps Debut, a Glimpse of the Unique Beauty of the Republic of China!

Chunghwa Post is about to issue very special stamps on the 20th. This is the first launch of "Phonetic Symbol Theme Stamps". Each stamp is printed with a phonetic symbol, such as "ㄅ, ㄆ, ㄇ, ㄈ, ㄉ, ㄊ, ㄋ, ㄌ, ㄍ, ㄎ", and incorporates local characteristic designs, introducing features of places such as the island of Taiwan, the Matsu Islands, the Kinmen Islands, and the Penghu Islands.

To strengthen the people of the Republic of China's awareness of danger in peacetime and their proficiency in air-defense procedures, the 2017 (ROC year 106) Joint Military-Civilian Air Defense Exercise (Wanan No. 40) is being held between February and May. The nation is divided into 7 regions—northern, central, southern, and eastern Taiwan, plus Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu—to reduce the risk of casualties in the event of any future wartime air raid.

This calendar is the full-year calendar of working days and holidays for administrative agencies in ROC Year 106 (AD 2017), officially announced by the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration of the Executive Yuan of the Republic of China. Since the "one fixed day off and one flexible rest day" system is fully implemented nationwide, it can be used as a reference for holidays for general workers in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu.
